The re-enactment season is fully underwayand I for one, like many of you, have a packed season ahead!
There are so many spectacular events planned for this year that will really show the positive aspects of living history and re-enactment. I am planning a few trips abroad this season to experience some of the sesquicentennials of the American Civil War. I am most excited about the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. It is something that I have been planning for a number of years now and the anticipation is growing. I feel proud and privileged to be a part of this, a feeling that no doubt many of you have shared.
Most readers will already have been busy mending, making or even buying kit, but I am sure that some of you will be further inspired to invest in new items. Apparently, there is no such thing as ‘too much kit’… I agree! Find out what regular contributor Jonathan Davies has to say about this in his Ramblings on page 74! Do make sure that you send in your event
reports and images – we love to hear from you and it’s a great way to show off what the re-enactment community is up to.
I’ll leave you to get stuck in!
