Description

The battle of Waterloo, fought on June 18th 1815, marked the climax of one of the shortest but most deciseve campaigns in military history, bringing an end to the career of Napoleon Bonaparte and an end to the twenty years of war which had torn Europe apart. Though the campaign has generated historical controversies that rumble on to this date, its significance both as a historical epic and a turning point in the story of Europe cannot be denied.
